PREPARATION OF POOL BOTTOM (Note: when installing a new pool make sure 90% of vegetation is removed, pool site is level and a weed and grass killer is applied and some sort of barrier such as rabbit or chicken wire and foam padding laid down before spreading masonry sand foundation. The weed and grass killer and padding will protect against grass growing through liner and the wire will discourage gophers and moles from tunneling under pool. With masonry sand, make a curved cove about 8” high and 8” wide all around the bottom of the pool wall on the inside. Pack firmly into place. Pre-Cast Styrofoam cove can also be used. Spread a 2” layer of masonry sand over the entire pool floor up to the 8” cove. Use a rake with 2” teeth to consistently give you a 2” floor. Next dampen, tamp and hand trowel sand starting at one end of pool working your way to the opposite side so as to leave very little foot prints.

LINER INSTALLATION

1. Place the closed liner carton in the center of the pool and open. Do Not use anything sharp to open the carton!

2. Unpack and unfold the liner and spread it out to warm up, inspecting all seams and surfaces for holes.

3. The curved seam should be centered on the cove at the base of the wall. The other seams will form straight lines across the

bottom of the pool. If seams appear to have flaps, check to see if the correct side is up. Smooth out all wrinkles in the bottom.

4. If you have a beaded liner, refer to the “Beaded Liner Installation” section.

5. Remove 2 to 3 rail sections and 1 wall track and plastic coping strips.

6. Lift the sides of the liner and drape over the top of the pool wall. You may use clothes pins to hold in place temporally until you are ready to install plastic coping strips, wall track and railing. Let liner hang slack for now. Do Not pull liner tight!

7. Refer to “Optional Step to Eliminate Wrinkles” section or continue with STEP 9.

8. If liner has wrinkles running down walls diagonally. This would indicate liner is not square.

9. Start filling pool. As pool fills, work out wrinkles and smooth the liner to the wall. Remove railing, tracking and plastic coping strips a section at a time and adjust liner and keep smoothing out the wrinkles.

10. Do not install face-plates, inlets, light fixtures, etc. until water level reaches 3” below each opening. Premature installation may

result in the liner tearing from around face-plates due to stretching as the water level rises.

11. Continue filling pool to desired level.

BEADED LINER INSTALLATION

1. Fasten liner in place (beaded liner only). This step applies only if you have a beaded liner.

2. Lift the sides of the liner and insert the beaded edge into the liner track.

3. Continue with STEP 10.

OPTIONAL STEP TO ELIMINATE WRINKLES

1. To remove air from behind the liner, which prevents wrinkles, insert a vacuum hose through the skimmer hole in the pool wall

behind the liner. To minimize vacuum loss, seal all openings with duct tape.

2. Turn the vacuum on. While vacuum is running, you should be adjusting the liner with short tugs to eliminate wrinkles.

If you have trouble shifting the liner into position, shut vacuum off for a few minutes. You should then be able to adjust the troubled area before continuing with the vacuum.

3. Start filling. NOTE: If you have a main drain, cut it in after water level is 2” deep. IMPORTANT REPLACE FACE PLATES & GASKETS! The vacuum must continue to run until water level nears the top. Make sure to keep vacuum hose above water level at all times.

4. Continue with STEP 10.

WARRANTY

1. Liner warranty is as follows: Liner is warranted against separating at the seams only! Fading, wrinkling, tears, holes, chemical burns, dry rot, neglect, hail etc. Anything else is not covered!
