POOL WATER CARE GUIDE/BAQUACIL (INTEX)

INITIAL START-UP 5-1/4 OZ OF ALGAECIDE AND 1 QT OF CLARIFIER, METAL CONTROL & NATURAL ENZYME PER 10,000 GALLONS

THINGS TO DO WEEKLY

1. Vacuum steps, walls then floor. Brush tile, waterline, steps, walls then floor toward main drain.

2. Check pump & skimmer baskets for debris and cracks & empty pool sweep bag & wall screener.

3. Backwash & rinse per your filters instructions. Sand Filters-Backwash 1 minute. Rinse 30 seconds

4. Check water level (keep level midway of skimmer mouth.)

5. Test & treat water in this order!!! Balance-Neutralize Chlorine-Metal Control-Shock-Sanitize

1. Shock every 7 days with 1 QT of Baquacil Shock & Oxidizer per 2,500 gallons of pool water.

Add 1oz.-2oz. of algaecide per 2,500 gal Note: Double your dosage during hotter months.

Add 1oz.-2oz. of clarifier per 2,500 gal Note: Double your dosage during hotter months.

Add 1oz.-2oz. of metal control per 2,500 gal Note: Double your dosage during hotter months.

Add 1oz.-2oz. of natural enzyme per 2,500 gal Note: Double your dosage during hotter months.

WATER BALANCE & RANGES NOTE: YOU MUST BALANCE YOUR WATER IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER!

Alkalinity 125-150ppm a. if low, (Goodbye Baquacil! acidic water, stains & corrodes) add alkalinity increaser.

b. if high, (Baquacil will not work! scale forms water clouds) add pH decreaser in small amount but frequently.

NOTE: high alkalinity must be lowered in small amounts frequently! it cannot be lowered in one treatment!

pH 7.4-7.6ppm a. if low, (Goodbye Baquacil! acidic water, stains & corrodes) add pH increaser per instructions.

b. if high, (Baquacil will not work! scale forms, water clouds) add pH decreaser per instructions.

Calcium Hardness 300ppm in plaster pools, vinyl & fiberglas pools

a. if low, (water foams, corrodes metals, soapy) add calcium increaser per instructions.

b. if high, ( scale forms! discoloration, limes heaters & plumbing) add TSP (trisodium

phosphate) per instructions or partially drain pool and add fresh water. If source water

calcium level is above recommended range then follow up with Baquacil Metal Control

initial dosage 1-1/4lbs per 10,000 gal then 2oz. to 4oz. per 10,000 gallons of water weekly.

METALS

Copper 0ppm if present, (Cloudy/Stains) balance water then add Baquacil Metal Control. Initial dosage 1-1/4 lbs

per 10,000 gal, then 2oz. to 4oz. per 10,000 gallons weekly.

Iron 0ppm if present, (Cloudy/Stains) balance water then add Baquacil Metal Control. Initial dosage 1-1/4 lbs

per 10,000 gal then 4oz. to 6oz. per 10,000 gallons weekly.

SANITIZE/BAQUACIL SANITIZER (to kill bacteria & algae) & OXIDIZE/BAQUA-SHOCK (to remove dead bacteria, algae and other organic matter from water).

Sanitizer 30-50ppm a. if low, (Cloudy water, algae & bacteria growth begin!) top-up with Baquacil Sanitizer

(refer to chart for dosage rate).

b. if high, (Foams! has a sweet almond taste) partially drain and dilute with fresh water.

THINGS TO DO MONTHLY

1. IMPORTANT: Biguanide treated pools (Baquacil, Aqua Free, Soft Swim & Clear Comfort)

must have filters Chemically cleaned with Baquacil Filter Cleaner every 30 days to break down the

scum & oil build up or poor filtration and circulation will occur as a result of the by-product in these

chemicals.

2. Remove scum from waterline on tile or vinyl & fiberglas with OMNI SURFACE CLEANER.

SCUMBALLS & SCUMSOCKS WORK GREAT!!!

3. Lubricate pump lid, chlorinator lid and pool cleaner wall fitting O-rings with MAGIC LUBE.

4. Have metals and phosphate levels tested by a pool professional.
